Great Plains Oil and Exploration – The Camelina Company – Announces "Guaranteed Price" Production Contract

SHELBY, MONTANA, (AgPR), February 1, 2007 -- Great Plains Oil and Exploration, "The Camelina Company", (www.CamelinaCompany.com), is now seeking Montana grain producers to grow 100,000 acres of Camelina sativa (Camelina). Interested growers are invited to visit the website (www.CamelinaCompany.com) for more information including “Guaranteed Price” cash production contracts and a March 15th program enrollment bonus cash incentive.

Former Montana State University Agricultural Innovation Center Director Duane L. Johnson, now Great Plains’ new Vice President of Agricultural Development says, “To date Great Plains has encountered remarkable enthusiasm and cooperation from the Governor, State development officials, and prospective contract growers. Great Plains looks forward to a long, sustainable partnership with the State of Montana. Together we can make Camelina the Future of Fuel.”

Sam Huttenbauer, President of Great Plains says, “We’re pleased to have the financial commitment upfront from a major biodiesel producer and marketer to make sure Montana growers who elect to plant Camelina this spring have guaranteed pre-planting season cash contracts and incentive bonuses.”

Great Plains is partnered one of the largest biodiesel producers in the country and they have provided Great Plains with an exclusive contract for as many acres as Montana growers are willing to plant this spring.

As spring planting plans are now being made, Great Plains’ mission is to provide a guaranteed cash contract marketing base so Camelina becomes a sustainable alternative crop for Montana. In preparation for the Camelina harvest, Great Plains has committed to building oilseed crushing facilities to support this crop. The first will be located in the Shelby Port Authority Industrial Park. This facility will be operational before the end of 2007. It is anticipated that this site will initially employ 12-14 people. A second site has been selected in the Judith Basin area and will commence receiving in 2008. Both locations will have rail and over the road capabilities.

Great Plains Oil and Exploration is a fully integrated company focused on Camelina and possesses outstanding seed science competency, molecular breeding, logistics, biodiesel production and end product marketing capabilities. The Company is also assisted by XS Inc., (www.XSinc.com), the leader in ag-specific scalable web-based systems. All share the dream of sustainable agriculture and look forward to partnering with Montana’s producer capabilities, climate, and their rotational crop requirements.

Great Plains is now issuing ‘guaranteed price’ cash contracts for up to 100,000 acres for the 2007 growing season. This is about five times the total Camelina acres planted in 2006. As the crop is cold tolerant it may be planted as soon as March 1st, weather permitting. Contract terms and conditions now appear on the company's website which may be accessed at www.CamelinaCompany.com . This website is interactive and will provide information about Camelina, and how to join the Great Plains team. Field agronomists will assist contract growers with planting and growing season needs. Growers and other interested parties may contact Great Plains at 877-922-6645, or e-mail Duane Johnson.
