Our solution:
Connect the manufacturer’s distributors to our DataConduit data collection, cleaning and reporting system for reporting point-of-sale transactions. Our system:
- Allowed distributors to report data in a way that is most efficient and convenient for them - EDI, spreadsheet, flat file, csv file, etc.
- Serviced distributors with "high touch" customer service representatives who understood their business and the their product line
- Gave distributors online views of all their raw data reported and cleaned data as reported to the manufacturer
- Gave distributors additional management reporting tools, providing a new unique view of their sales
The results:
The project was an immediate success. DataConduit simplified the reporting and reconciliation process for distributors while increasing the manufacturer's and the distributors' confidence levels in the reported data used for invoicing.
- The project was expanded several times to include fertilizer combination products and another division’s products
- With a new sense of confidence in the point-of-sale data, the manufacturer began to use it to support their end user loyalty program-eliminating the need for end users to submit paper claims and invoice copies to earn their program points
- The cleaned data was made available, on-demand, to the manufacturer’s sales and marketing representatives in the home office and in the field
