PLAN - The Production Plan Editor allows production planners to create production plans based upon sales forecasts. This tool calculates the estimated total production need and allows the planner to allocate fulfillment of need across regions and production managers. While entering in data, the planner can see the unassigned production needs in real time.
SHARE - After the production plan has been created by the planner, the information is instantly available to all team members. Updates and changes are seen in real time, eliminating the need for spreadsheets and emails to keep everyone in the loop. Online access prevents field personnel from working off of stale data.
REVIEW – The Production Plan Forecast tool shows how production is matching up with the production plan. Forecast numbers are based on real time data. As contracts are written, yield estimates are added. Also, as production is delivered, the estimated production information updates, providing the most accurate picture of production areas in need or with excess. This allows the planner to adjust the plan as the season is progressing and minimize risk.
CONTRACT – The Grower Contract Editor allows contracts with producers to be written and maintained online. As contracts are written, the estimated production from the contract can is calculated. This information is reflected in the production plan forecast.
VISUALIZE – The Grower Contract Search provides visibility of all the contracts written for a given growing seasonThe user is able to see all the contracts, their current status as well as the value of the contract at that point in time. Changes in the value of the contract are reflected as the season progresses
ORDER – Seed Orders generated from contracts can be managed online. Monitor how much stock seed is needed in a given year and control how much is released. The P2 system also has the ability to monitor stock seed inventory to help ensure there is enough supply to meet the production plan needs.
INSPECT – Field Inspections help ensure the quality of the product while it is being produced. Field Managers have the ability to see all fields that are under contract for the current growing season and then perform the required inspections and stewardship checks. Any yield estimations done during these inspections are reflected instantly in the production plan forecast. If a field is lost, the production plan lets the planner know that production from a different source will be needed.
PURCHASE – In the event that not all production is purchased from a given contract, the purchase planning tool enables the field manager to view the need of a given production target, in this case Seed Variety, and decide how much production will be purchased. The amount that is guaranteed on the contract is displayed to help ensure that the minimum contract obligations are considered. This tool helps to minimize the amount of buyouts while also allowing the purchase planner to purchase the cheaper goods.
DELIVER – The Delivery Schedule Editor manages how the product will be delivered from the producer to the delivery facilities. This helps organize any testing that may take place when product is brought in from the field. Traceability of product can go all the way down to the field level if needed. As product is received, the P2 system maintains the inventory. (The P2 system has the ability to apply processes to inventory and track the outputs. The processes can range from sizing and sorting, to conditioning of product, to bagging.
PROCESS – The P2 system has the ability to apply processes to inventory and track the outputs. The processes can range from sizing and sorting, to conditioning of product, to bagging. This is an example of a cleaning process performed on seed.
SETTLE – The P2 system tracks the production process from start to finish and allows for auto-population of all settlement values manually entry. The system is flexible in order to fit your needs.

Overview
XS’ P2 system is a comprehensive system for efficiently managing a grower production program, from the planning stage through to product delivery and settlement. Moreover, it provides a degree of precision, efficiency and visibility that was previously just not available.
P2 gives you real control over your process. Virtually every process has dependencies that can be managed to fit the way you want to run your business. Do you want to make sure that production seed is only delivered to growers that have signed contracts? No problem. Do you want to make sure that all fields have been treated before harvest? No problem. The communications module can even create automatic alerts to keep your processes moving smoothly on time.
With you all the information you need at your fingertips – the who, what, where, why, when and how much – P2 lets you take control of your contracted production operations.
Value Proposition
Buyers of agricultural goods seek to manage their own production (rather than rely on an open markets) for a number of reasons. For example, buyers may be seeking:
Historically, administering a contract production program was costly and time consuming. XS’ P2 system manages these challenges, saving time and money for those buyers who have been doing it the old fashioned way, and making programs possible for those buyers who have been stymied by the complexity or cost of such a program. Specifically, XS P2 helps users:
P2 System Modules and Features
Grower, Field and Facilities management – Capture all the necessary data about a given farm operation including, for example field coordinates, acreage, soil type, storage capacity, historical average yield, etc.
Production Planning – Develop a system wide plan for what crops need to be grown where, in what time frame, under whose management
Contracting Process – Make sure that the right contracts are all in place and that the latest production estimates are based on completed contracts
Seed Order and License Management – Ensure that all the ”paperwork” is in place before planting, or maybe even seed delivery, can begin.
Production Management – Measure ongoing results (e.g., planting date, mid-season estimated yield) and also enforce compliance with key stewardship or processing requirements
Delivery and Inventory Tracking – P2 continuously incorporates the latest results via electronic feeds from all delivery points.
Purchasing Optimization – Make final purchasing decisions based on the most up to date information on yield and demand, cost-of-goods from each source, and considering contractual minimums and obligations of both parties.
